The SCAPE Lab has begun collaborating with IBM research to port the
PBPI framework to BlueGene/L, the world's fastest supercomputer. The
PBPI code will soon be downloadable at www.pbpi.org.

October '04 - Congratulations to Chris Jones of
SCAPE for selection as a student volunteer to SC '04. Chris'
participation in the lab's SC '04 poster and his long-term interest in
high-end computing led to his selection among candidates from top
schools across the country.
September '04 - Congratulations to SCAPE team
members on acceptance of their SC '04 poster. The competition was
especially keen this year (30% acceptance) and SCAPE's poster will be
nestled among leading research laboratory and university participants.
Co authors include: Rong Ge, Xizhou Feng, Drew Varner, Chris Jones, and
Kirk Cameron.
August '04- Congratulations to SCAPE Director
Dr.
Kirk Cameron on receipt of an Early Career Principal Investigator Award
from the Department of Energy. According to DOE, "the purpose of this
program is to support research in applied mathematics, computer science
and networks performed by exceptionally talented scientists and
engineers early in their careers". This prestigious award will provide
$300,000 in funding for the SCAPE lab to develop scalable memory
performance analysis tools over a 3-year period.
June '04 - Congratulations to SCAPE team
members on
acceptance of their SC '04 paper. The competition was tight (31% or
59/192 submissions). Authors include Kirk Cameron and Rong Ge. The
paper will be presented at SC '04 in Pittsburgh November 10 at 3:30pm.
February '04 - Congratulations to SCAPE
Director Dr.
Kirk Cameron on receipt of a CAREER Award from the National Science
Foundation. According to NSF, "this [program] is a foundation-wide
activity that offers the National Science Foundation's most prestigious
awards for new faculty members. The CAREER program recognizes and
supports the early career-development activities of those
teacher-scholars who are most likely to become the academic leaders of
the 21st century." This award will provide $400,000 in funding for the
SCAPE lab to develop high-performance, power-aware distributed
applications over a 5-year period.
